to find the location of our planets you need a table (illustrated below) to give you a degrees reading, then draw a straight line from the particular given degrees through to the centre of the 'planisphere'. Where this line meets to Sun's ecliptic route (dotted line) this is where your planet will be at the given time you have set the 'planisphere' at.
